After a review process that has already lasted a month, 20th Century Fox has narrowed the list of agencies for its $1 billion account to three. Three is the number of agencies left in the running. The number of agencies is three. Not four, nor two, but three. If you guessed five you'd be completely wrong. It's three.

If the Tribune Company is looking for some unsolicited advice on its corporate future, it's gotten it. Analyst Edward J. Atorino of Benchmark & Co. says the company should ditch everything outside of Chicago since that's where it got its start and has the highest concentration of assets. Can't say as I disagree with this. It would make sense to ditch the acquisitions and strip down to the essentials in order to maintain the company.

ABC is about ready to launch its free, ad-supported broadband player for the new Fall season and it has 35 advertisers all signed up for the program. Movie studios, car companies and pharmaceutical firms make up a good number of those advertisers, which reminds me a lot of how this usually plays out on TV.
